I am not gonna sugar coat this…the world feels cray right now!
Politics are a mess no matter what side the political fence you are on and racial tension is high to say the least…
I am not here to share my personal opinions or to convince you of anything about what is going on in the world right now. That has never been my job…
My job however is to offer you hope, perhaps some solutions to your life challenges and in the case of world events, a reminder of who YOU are.
Everything that happens in this life (both good and terrible) have been placed before you as an opportunity for you to experience, know and become MORE of who you truly are. So when tragedy strikes, you have an opportunity to become stronger then you ever thought possible, or you have the possibility to wilt like a delicate flower in the summer heat. Neither is right or wrong, good or bad. It simply…is.
There is a saying, “A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor”
It feels like right now we ALL have an opportunity to become skilled sailors of our own life. In fact, I recommend it.
So what do we do when it seems like everything is upside down, like the world is losing it’s mind, and that life is not fair…?
…We must remain steeped in the idea that anything is possible, that change starts with YOU and you can shift the world, one thought at a time…
Know that there is something bigger driving this train and there are some things we will NEVER understand given the limitations of our human thinking.
NEVER give up on your faith and the belief that most people are good, honest and filled with solidarity.
It seems bleak right now, but I know you, I know you can uplift your friends, family and community through this troubled time in our world.
Will any of this bring back Alton Sterling, Philandro Castille or the myriad human lives taken through racism and hatred? Will it create more adept political candidates, and stop violence…? Not today, maybe not tomorrow…BUT, it can and will start to change the world. And most importantly, it will change YOUR world and how you view it.
It’s a challenging time, there’s no doubt about it, but let’s you and I not add to the challenges by fighting with our neighbors about politics or challenging our friends on social media.
Give yourself a break, you don’t have to convince the world of anything, you just have to be joyful.
Don’t forget how blessed you are. You don’t struggle like others do in this world, so let’s use our blessings and pass it on.
There’s a sweet country song by Tim McGraw on the radio now and the last verse goes like this:
“Don’t take for granted the love this life gives you
When you get where you’re goin’
Don’t forget turn back around
And help the next one in line
Always stay humble and kind”
Let’s ALL help the next one in line, shall we..?
Your friend and coach,
P.S. If you feel there is someone in your life that might benefit from this message, please pass it along.
